Features
- A solid, deep plot filled with humor and speckled with moments that will spook you, touch you, or make you think.
- A large world that changes as the game progresses
- A world full of NPCs that remember what you've said to them, done for them, and done to them.
- All the artificial limits that drove you nuts in other RPGs... plus a way to remove them.
- A magic system that takes Sleep, Petrify, Death, and all the other spells that cliche 76 makes useless, and turns them into spells that are useful--but not overpowering--at all levels.
- For that matter, a game that tries to break or make fun of as many RPG cliches as possible.
- All the variety in items, spells, abilities, characters, monsters, and locations you've come to expect from a full-scale commercial RPG.
- Your choice of user interface:
- Text adventure
Nostalgic for the old days, when nerds were nerds and games were words? The text adventure UI is for you. In this mode, everything is made out of ordinary text, which means that the game is completely accessible to blind users. Or to nerds whose eyes are too bleary to focus. Grab a screen reader and you're set. - Roguelike
Closer to a graphical interface but still something you can play without any graphics at all. Perfect for small devices, slow computers, and remote connections. - Graphical
It may look like an old SNES game, but it's prettier than text and still runs almost anywhere. - More?
If there's one thing open source does well, it's variety. If enough people want a modern 3D interface, someone will make it. Got an old pair of red and blue 3D glasses sitting around collecting dust? Maybe there will be a *real* 3D interface later on.
